Window cleaning

How often should you have your windows cleaned?

8 July 2026 · 4 min read

It is a fair question, and the honest answer is that it depends on your home and where it sits. Here is how to work out the right window cleaning frequency for you.

For most Shropshire homes, a window round every 4 to 8 weeks keeps the glass consistently clear without paying for cleans you do not need. But a few things push you towards one end or the other.

What makes windows dirty faster

  • Busy roads. Traffic film and dust build up quickly, so 4-weekly usually wins.
  • Trees and greenery nearby. Sap, pollen and bird mess mean more frequent cleans.
  • Coastal or exposed spots. Salt and driving rain leave deposits faster.
  • Farmland. Out towards Market Drayton and the rural villages, dust and mud tell on the glass sooner.

Why pure water stays clean longer

Traditional soap-and-squeegee cleaning can leave a faint residue that actually attracts dirt. Pure water leaves nothing behind, so the glass dries spot-free and stays cleaner for longer between visits, which is part of why a regular round works so well.

Regular round or one-off?

If you just want your windows to stay clean without thinking about it, a regular round is the easy, cheaper-per-clean choice, and we text before every visit. If you only want an occasional refresh, a one-off clean is always available. We run regular rounds across Oswestry, Market Drayton and the wider county.
