uPVC, fascia and soffit cleaning
Grey and green plastic boards, cleaned from the ground with a soft brush and never a pressure washer. I also tell you plainly what a clean can fix and what it cannot.

AfterBefore
Why white plastic goes grey, then green
Rain splashes road dust onto the boards, shade keeps them damp, and algae settles into the film. On a north face under a tree the white turns grey in a few years, then green along the bottom edge.
- Grey film first, then green at the low edge
- Worst on shaded runs and under trees
- Fascias, soffits, cladding and bargeboards all do it
Why I do not pressure wash plastic
A jet strips the glossy skin off uPVC. The boards look clean for a week, then hold dirt faster than before. I use a soft brush and a cleaning solution at hose pressure, then rinse, from the ground.
- Soft brush and solution, rinsed at hose pressure
- Nothing leans on the boards
- Fascias, soffits and cladding in one visit
What cleaning can do, and what it cannot
Cleaning lifts what sits on the plastic: algae, grime and tide marks. It cannot restore plastic that has oxidised. Old boards that have gone chalky stay dull or patchy, however long I work on them.
- Can do: algae, grime and tide marks gone
- Can do: clean, even white on boards in fair condition
- Cannot do: chalky, oxidised plastic back to new
- Cannot do: mend cracks or warped boards
Gutter and fascia, in one visit
The gutter hangs off the fascia, so the two get dirty together and I clean them together. The camera shows you the inside of the gutter as well as the face of the board, and when you book both I take 25% off the gutter clear.
- One set up, one visit
- Gutter cleared by vacuum, board brushed
- Before and after photos of both
How I tell before I start
Run a finger along a dry board. If white powder comes off, the surface has chalked. I check this on the day and tell you before any work starts, so you pay for a clean board, not a promise of a new one.
- A finger test on the dullest board
- You decide after I have told you
- Quoted after a look: cladding and bargeboards

uPVC, Fascia & Soffit FAQs
Can you make old yellow or chalky uPVC white again?
Not fully: cleaning removes dirt and algae, not damaged plastic. If the surface has oxidised, you get a cleaner board that may still look dull, and I tell you before I start.
Will you pressure wash my fascias?
No. A jet damages the surface and makes it dirty faster. I use a soft brush and a solution at hose pressure instead.
Do you clean cladding and bargeboards?
Yes. They are quoted after a look, because the length varies from house to house. Send me a photo and I give you a figure.
Do you clean uPVC windows and doors too?
Yes. Frames, sills and doors are cleaned every window visit. This page is about the roofline boards.
Will the boards stay clean?
A cleaned board stays cleaner than a neglected one, but shaded sides go green again first. I tell you which sides will be quickest.
